Why Non-Denominational? Well, what denomination was Jesus?
Jesus never intended for His people to be separated by denominations, only
to be
separate from the world.
"Therefore come out from them
and be separate, says the Lord." (2 Cor. 6:17 NIV)
The Lord wants us to operate as a unit, one body of believers moving
forward to do
His will: "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the
name of the
Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them everything
I have
commanded you." (Mat. 28:19-20a NIV)
Can you imagine what kind of impact we would have for the Kingdom of God if
all the
Bible believing (and I mean true Bible believing)
churches in NE Ohio would set
aside their denominational differences for a moment and preach the Gospel
to the
lost?
Part of our Mission here at Abundant Joy Church is to break down the
Denominational barriers that have been set up, keeping Gods children from
operating
as a unit to do His work here on earth. We do this by contacting other
churches,
keeping an open line of communication in efforts of bringing the community
of Gods
people together to worship Him in spirit and in truth.
We are Spirit filled, which means we believe in the
Baptism of the
Holy Spirit in accordance with Acts 2. And that same baptism that
was poured out on the day of Pentecost is made available to
those who have a relationship with Jesus Christ. Along with the
Baptism of the Holy Spirit, we also believe in the operation of the
Gifts of the Spirit found in Romans 12, and 1 Corinthians 12.
